We quickly found that she had hookworms and a spirochete infection. She was a hot mess! The initial vet we saw put her on a commercial probiotic. My son and I take probiotics with good results, so why not the dog? I've never used them in the past for pets, but she obviously needed the help. I searched desertcart for a good, natural product and found this. Combined with quality food, her poop was soon perfect, and beautiful (as poop goes). Her eyes are clear, and her coat is soft and shiny. We've recently purchased our second container. The first lasted us over 4 months, so I figure this is an effect, inexpensive investment in our pet's health. I will continue to purchase. Review: New User - I am like many others on here. I have a dog with sensitive stomach issues and mild IBD. I went down the entire testing route, including exploratory surgery. I finally found a food that she tolerates and now I am trying to see if we can't reduce some of the meds. She has only been on this product for 3 days, so it is too early to tell, but I will update as more time passes. I am storing it in the refrigerator. My dog is 11 lbs. so I am using 1/3 of the scoop. Someone else mentioned that they put it in the dinner food. I had not thought of that. Her tummy seems to sour during the night, so I will try that tomorrow. I received the product in good condition, found the scoop, and was impressed by the follow-up email from the company which provided a lot of good info on the product. Sep 17, 2015 update: I started my dog on this on Sep 1, 2015. She is doing great. She hasn't thrown up once. She is on a non-prescription limited ingredients canned dog food and still takes an antacid 1st thing and at bedtime, which I plan to phase out and see how she does. She is improving daily, is full of energy, and eats ALL her food now, without being coaxed or hand fed.

Got our girl back to normal.
I am really pleased with this product. We brought home our rescue dog and discovered she had worms. Dewormer treatments are very harsh on their systems. Between the medication and the change in her life, she wasn't eating well. This went on for a few weeks. We also noticed her digestive system was just all out of sorts. I decided to give probiotics a try. I am pleased to say that after a few days I started to notice a difference. After a few weeks, she started to return to normal. I believe this combined with our efforts to get her on a regular schedule and provide quality food, got her appetite back. Her digestive system returned to normal, and she's a happy gal.

I Experimented With 3 Brands
I purchased 3 probiotics from Amazon for my dogs [3 pooches; 2 with moderate to severe diarrhea]: VetriScience Laboratories Mega Probiotic Doggone Best Products Probiotics NucleOtics Probiotics VertiScience made a definite improvement, but the capsules were difficult as my dogs will spit them out or did not eat them if mixed in the food. Pill Pockets are expensive, and peanut butter is messy. The other option is to open them up and sprinkle the contents on the food. But why then have a capsule, which is an extra cost? Next I used the Doggone Best, which is a loose powder. The digestive health continued without change. I only used about 2/3 of the 8 ounce jar before experimenting with NucleOtics. NucleOtics has a lot of yeast, and is only 2.12 ounces. Again, a loose powder with a tiny scoop. The loose stools returned, but not bad as before starting, but bad enough that I went back to The Doggone Best. My conclusion is that Doggone Best is the choice for me, although VetriScience is a good product.. Doggone offers good value for an effective product. The drawback is the scoops in Doggone and NucleOtics are tiny—easily lost in the jar, and a lot of powder ends up on one’s hands. I suggest that you get an idea of how much product is right for your dog—using the scoops provided a few times, then toss them and simply sprinkle the powder on the food. Adding some water or canned food to kibble will help it stick and be consumed by your dog[s]. Overall, mark me a big believer in probiotics for dogs!

Good Product
I have a large dog with a problematic stomach leading to diarrhea. It was a messy problem and probably hurtful to him when he was a puppy. I started giving this to him beginning with a small amount, gradually adding more until I got to the directed amount. It firmed his stool and now I use it occasionally for maintenance and when he eats something he should not. Additionally I started him on a grain free diet.

Love that it worked for us
I was lucky enough to have purchased this while on sale. I wasn't really expecting much beyond what a probiotic would do for my 2 dogs. I really wanted to give this to my Lab who's on raw, but would sometimes get acidic bouts of indigestion, and for my Frenchie who's allergy prone. So far it'\s been helping my Lab. But the biggest surprise is my Frenchie, who's had bouts of full anal glands needing to be expressed regularly. When this happened he'd use to scoot, it's like he really just has to go, and a walk outside helps him poop. Now to my great joy, he goes out to our garden and poops on his own, which he would never do with his anal gland issues. Also this probiotic makes his poop firm, which I think helps his anal glands express on it's own too. So what a lovely bonus for me. Hope this continues to help with this. While it's still on sale, I just bought 2 now to stock up. Though it was at $15 two weeks ago, and glad I got to buy then. So I highly recommend you try this while it still is. I've recommended this to a fellow frenchie owner already. My one minor gripe is the tiny jar with an even tinier scoop. I just wish it had a longer handle, makes using it a bit messy and I hate getting the handle crusty.
