SCP Foundation - Foundation Handbook - Volume I [Defort, Dr. Peter James] on desertcart.com. *FREE* shipping on qualifying offers. SCP Foundation - Foundation Handbook - Volume I Review: A great purchase for any fan - This book is an amazing source for any SCP fan. I really enjoy SCP in book form because it is like reading short stories before bed. The book also includes QR codes on every SCP which when scanned lead to a useful database. Thank you very much. Review: Wow - Our daughter is not the easiest to buy for, but she really into SCP. When I found this book I couldn't wait to order it for her birthday. When it came in I was very impressed. The paper is of good quality, and the information inside is so professional looking. Not to mention the thickness of the book. It is truly a great perchance.

A lot of fun! Bought it for my 10yo, ended up bingeing it myself. Regarding kid-safety: Objectionable content: There’s one story near the middle non-explicitly featuring the theme of rape, and there’s one story at the end where one character mentions masturbation. I would personally let my 10yo read it, but I’d have to have conversations with her. Scary content: Many kids would get nightmares from many of these stories. But it’s what I’ll call “thematic creepiness”, usually not in-your-face scariness. Most or all of it is in the genre “weird fiction”, and only a bit of it is proper horror (notably, the first story is horror, which might give the wrong impression).

Perfect for cosplayers and fans of the project
I cosplay and I like to bring reading material with me that is sort of geared to my cosplays when I'm walking around and convention or waiting in line. As someone who likes to try and limit my time on my phone at events this is by far the best source of material that could fit my cosplay. For fast reference I went ahead and placed tabs on my copy that help me find the reference points of thr scps inside. As I found out they have a volume 2 I'll definitly be getting that one next month. Note however: on YouTube you can easily plug in some of these scps and read along with the file but I found on one particular scp when it was read aloud the version on YouTube is slightly diffrent. This is the one pertaining to the book ends. I belive this is because the document was refined and at the same time changed by the author of the oringal files or edited by YouTube for copyright issues. So be sure to also read the material normally so that you don't get lost. At the same time do note some of the scps that are listed in here do have side stories that are secondary case files that are sort of small novels inside the book. You won't be able to find those to be read on YouTube to read along with. In all I like that it was well compiled and I have finally finished reading the book myself from initially getting it a few months back after I got to it in my to be read stack.

Detailed
Really neat book with a ton of details entries for various SCPs. It's around 350 pages and each entry is unique. It doesn't cover every SCP but that's okay. This book is centered more towards teenagers or adults, so if buying for your SCP obsessed child, just know it does contain quite a bit of explicit language. It's very good quality and my son has been enjoying it. Really glad I decided to purchase this for him.

Perfect for newcomers and long time fans alike
This is a near-flawlessly executed project. Please support this project so we can see a second volume! A wonderful range of SCPs are included here--short ones, long ones, complicated ones, famous and lesser known ones. Fantastic, clever work at adapting these SCPs to book format, especially ones that involve interaction like inputting credentials. It's obvious a lot of care was taken to hand pick the most appropriate SCPs, such that the reader is given a strong baseline for understanding the SCP universe and its many canons. The ordering is equally appropriate (they aren't in numerical order), which is impressive because SCPs frequently cross-reference each other. I'm proud to have this book.

Yes, you can read everything on the SCP Wiki for free, but having a physical copy just hits different. It feels like flipping through a slightly classified science textbook, clean layout, simple cover, no flashy nonsense. Just contained horrors, neatly documented. It’s also great not staring at a screen for once. The format works surprisingly well as short, bedtime-style reads since each SCP stands on its own. The QR codes for every entry are a nice touch too, especially if you want to dive deeper into the database afterward. It works both as a collector’s item for existing fans and as an introduction for newcomers. Even with only passing knowledge of the universe, it’s easy to get into and genuinely entertaining. Overall, it feels like something that belongs on the shelf of anyone who enjoys the SCP concept, serious enough to feel authentic, but accessible enough that you don’t need to be a lore encyclopedia to enjoy it.

Nice book if you want to read about some selected SCPs but I did expect a bit more regarding the structure and procedures of the SCP foundation to be used for a fan film (if my plans play out). If that was explained it would be a 5/5!

Great item like an irl science text book very cool. Susan and Michelle should be watching what their kids do online and not leave negative reviews cause they weren't paying attention.

My 11 yo, who hates to read, loves this book. The stories are captivating and he loves SCP. There are some bad words (mainly the f word), but I knew that before purchasing the book and it gave me the opportunity to talk to him and educate him. He comes and show me when he finds the f word or when there are bad stories, which is not that much.
