Having purchased the earlier version and experiencing firmware issues, I’ve upgrade to this newer version of the same model. It is basic, but it works, and this later version of the same model plays most files. Customer services and support is good. But note it doesn’t work with the stated NTFS formatted drives. However instead it plays exFAT which is better. exFAT now the default and a better and more modern table. This player will work with the older TVs using the supplied AV cable. However for HDMI you will need to buy a cable, plus 2 AAA batteries for the remote control. But it does come with an additional plug in IR cabled receiver. I think the device is overpriced, but it is small, compact and mobile plus versatile, and good for playing from USB2 and USB3 drives.

Wanted an offline standalone media player. Was using a Sumvision Cyclone micro 2 before this. Lost the remote which was the end of that! This seems a step up. The remote is more responsive (and you can see when the button has been pressed) + the on-screen interface seems slicker and more intuitive. It took me a few moments to figure out the lack of regular play, stop, pause buttons on the remote. Other bonuses include having two USB ports (so could connect more drives or even you can connect a mouse if we ever lose the remote again), the picture seems sharper and it plays h265 files.

Works very well with 4K video once you work out the format must be MBR for large files. This limits you to 2Gb drives. So, there's a bit of a half truth being told about being compatible with 6Tb drives. This statement will be true for mp3's etc. On the positive side playback of 4K is solid and performs much better than apps found on smart TV's. The manual is woeful. Referring to Google cleared up my problem with formatting. The after market support appearing to be quite good from what I saw. Nearly fantastic it does what it claims to do with one limitation as described.

Excellent media player, can play MTS and many other formats. It plays large files smoothly and has good quality output, however remote contr misses feature to move to next clip or movie. I recently bought Sumvision CYCLONE MICRO 2 4K + but this can't play MTS format and was lethargic when playing large media files, it's not worth it as advertised, also so far I'm waiting for my refund

I used this to display moving image artwork - the film would play normally, on repeat, for a day, and then would start to only play the first few minutes of it before repeating, showing less and less of the film each time, until it showed around only 30 seconds of the film before repeating (the full film is 5 mins long). This could be resolved by turning the media player off and on, from the plug socket, but this process of showing increasingly less of the film each time kept happening, after a day or two of use. Also, the media player features attachments that don’t seem to make sense - one of them has a sticky semi-sphere on the end of a cable, that is really confusing. It is also worth noting that the remote does not come with batteries, so these will need to be sourced yourself.

Good product but if you pause and restart the speech is out of sync. I would still recommend.

No problems with this at all. Easy to set up and use.

Works perfectly and compare to my old box it have much better picture quality.
