YOU DON'T CHANGE THE WORDS TO A #1 HIT SONG When a piece of gear has a cult-like following like the Ferrosi Hooded Jacket does, you don't mess with it unless you can really justify it. So we kept everything everyone loves about our tough but breathable do-it-all lightweight weather-resistant soft shell, and added thumb loops and slightly changed the hybrid mapping on the wrists for a fresh look Review: Nice lightweight wind layer - No, this is not a warm jacket in and of itself. It's very thin lightweight material. It a great layering item. For example... I wore it over a t-shirt and sweatshirt while shoveling in 17°F with about 10-15mph winds. I generate a lot of body heat naturally and this stopped the wind from breaking thru. I wound up sweaty by the end of my driveway which is big enough for about 8 vehicles. The hood covers up your neck and head (duh right) and it's the same wind block as the body of the jacket and it fits nicely over a hat. It has the cinch cord to hold it down. It isn't very big to begin with anyhow. The jacket nicely packs into it's own pocket. Since it's very stretchy it doesn't restrict movement. I wear it for a breathable yet wind break layer when running in the cold. I use it for work since I'm outside for my job a lot. So far it's been very durable. My only complaint about it so far it's the stupid thumb holes. They are way too small for using long or at least for my hands. I have some other items with thumb holes that are bigger and very comfy. These not so much. They work to keep the sleeves down if you put another snug fitting layer over this but imo that's all these are good for. I think it's a good jacket worth the money on a sale. I'm not a big fan of sticker prices. Review: Perfect Jacket - I've had this Jacket approx. 4hrs, and already know that I'll love it. I've already taken a 1 mile walk with it on in 32 degree f temps and a 15 miles per hour wind and was impressed with how it felt on me and how it kept the wind at bay. I'm 6' tall and weight 170-175 ( athletic build) and was torn between a med and large. I decided on a large and am glad I did because it fits perfect. I wound up putting a puffer under the ferosi on my walk and it wasn't overly tight at all. I think someone my size would be fine with a medium if you were more interested in a fitted look and had little need for much layering underneath. My only knock if any would be that the sleeve cuffs aren't overly loose which is good for wind ,but requires some negotiating over the wrist if your wearing a watch. Overall I see this as a jacket I will be grabbing for almost all but the warmer temps and just altering the layering underneath.

Versatile Ferrosi
The Ferrosi is a great lightweight jacket. Good for spring and fall hiking. Could be used as a wind stop layer with some mid layers beneath but too light for very cold weather by itself. Packs really well to carry on hikes.

Great light jacket!
First of all, I don’t know what some of these reviewers are thinking. Below 75 you need something more substantial? I guess this is all personal comfort and how humid of a climate you live in but from 65-74 I’d say most places you don’t need much of a jacket at all unless it’s very humid overcast and windy or rainy. Here in Denver the t-shirt and shorts zone is around 55 and above. Anyway, this has been a very nice and useful layer for me. It’s good in chilly weather (from sunny days in 20s-40s or above if you need it) and light rain or snow. I’ve skied in it on nice days in 20s and 30s also with tech t-shirt underneath and it performed great. I’m an OR fan an this didn’t disappoint.

Runs small and long
The jacket is well made, but very lightweight. Therefore, I'm not sure what "Summit" in the name is supposed to denote. The big issue with the jacket is the strange fit. It is very tight in the arms and body, but the jacket is also very long. Unless you're tall and very thin, it will be hard to get a good fit.

Great!!!
Great price, great product. Light, but blocks the wind and is breathable. With an insulated layer (sweater, hoodie, base layer etc) this will help keep you warm in low temps as well. Just won’t do that by it’s self. Not designed to though.

This jacket ran way to small for me
I really liked the fabric, design and quality of this jacket but I just couldn't understand why the fit was so tight for an XXL. I am 6' 3" and 245 with a 48-50" chest and this jacket restricted my movement. There was no way you could put an underlayer beneath this jacket and be comfortable. Companies like Outdoor Research should "research" the fit for people my size. I can't be the only big guy that likes to hike and be outdoors. If you are a young "flat belly" and like a tighter fit you wouldn't be buying an XXL anyway.

Ferrosi Hoody on Steroids
I like my Ferrosi hoodies alot and wear them often in 50-70 F temps. They don't really help that much when it gets chilly or wet though unless its a quick and not too hard of a rain. That is where this Ferrosi Summit shines actually. Its a little tougher of a material yet still lightweight and comfy. Its also much more water resistant and has a much better hood. It also has the better pocket/organization options than the regular Ferrosi. For sizing, it is about the same. I find it to be a regular fit with a slight learning toward the slim fitting side. I'm 5'11 and about 200 pounds and large fits me. I went with the XL to save almost a hundred bucks though (no brainer, really). When you need a little more, its great to have this Summit ready. Thanks OR and Amazon.

Love this jacket. It’s everything I wasted and more. Very lightweight but durable. Excellent purchase.

Awesome softshell. Looks the business. Stretchy, super breathable and very lightweight but that doesn't mean it's fragile. The Cordura makes sure of that. Maybe a bit long in the body but not a big deal as you can just adjust :) Brilliant piece of kit.
