Great Quality Product and Company Customer Service.
Great product and company customer service. I have been using this tool for two years now without an issues. One Saturday while working on my road bike, it broke. That Saturday, I send an email to Tekton explaining the problem and asking on how to start the warranty claim process. Following Monday morning, I got a reply from Russ. He explained why the tool may have stopped working and that he will send me a replacement as soon as I provided my address. No hassle, no questioning and not waste of time, isn't that impressive. In two days on Wednesday I got my new Tekton torque wrench. I was impressed. Every time I need a tool from now on I will try to get a Tekton. By the way, the issues was that I was storing the tools way below the lowest setting making the internal parts to become lose. Here is the sequence of emails fro proof: Hi Hadad, Thanks for the quick response. Your replacement torque wrench is on the way out, and you should see it in a few days. Just remember to never turn this one below the lowest setting of 20 inch-lbs and you should be all set. Let me know if there is anything else I can do for you. Thanks! The torque wrench is probably not clicking because you have it turned down below the lowest setting. Taking the wrench below the lowest setting of 20 inch-lbs can allow the internal mechanism to rotate out of place, ruining the wrench. Confirm your address for me and I can get a replacement out to you. Why didnt I buy this sooner!
Well the only negative is, is that it took me so long to buy this thing! I fiddled with the cheap $20 Harbor Freight 1/4" torque wrench, but after a few returns I had it... I kind of made me think Tekton would be the same hit or miss Torque wrench at a value price. I was wrong... Just received and already put it to use.. Directions are simple and so is the maintenance.. Store it i the low setting and dont knock it around.. Pretty simple.. Ok so how does it work.. well flawlessly.. The dial is easy to read, the torque down bolt to lock your setting keeps it exactly where you set it without having to worry as you torque your bolt that the dial will rotate (Harbor Freight Flaw #1.) The thing clicks! even at the lowest torque setting, it will let you know when you hit the torque value you set as you turn the bolt! (Harbor Freight problem #2.) Finally this thing seems to be built well, at least its heavier and sturdier than than the Harbor Freight cheapo I had... Ok in summary, buy it! It works, its great, time will tell how reliable it is.. But considering this will be used maybe 3 times a month, I would think it will last forever without a re-calibration.

So far so good - for the price this is a good Torque Wrench for the DIY'er that does not want to spring for Snap-On, etc.
When I saw the price drop to around $30 on this wrench, coupled with a $10 promotion bringing it down to near $20 - I figured it was time to give this a try... ... I already had the 1/2 inch 50-250 Torque wrench gap filled for the big stuff (I have a Kobalt), and already had the 3/8 inch 10-150 ft pound gap filled with another Tekton wrench - so this was the void that I needed filling for torqueing smaller bolts down. What is the verdict after a few months? For the price, it is hard to beat... I have not had any issues with it, and it has done everything I asked it to. Do I know if it is 100% calibrated to the .01 inch pound? No, I don't - but I think some are getting to hung up on it being too EXACT when it is not priced to that level - but I am confident it is close enough, and have tested the final reading with another torque wrench of higher quality (my friends) and it was the same. If you want +/- .01 accuracy, go spend $400 - I spent $20 on this and it does a pretty good job. So why the four stars, and not five? I think this wrench is a fine tool for those not looking to spend a lot on a torque wrench, but I bought it because of a compromise between acceptable quality and price. I did not buy the five star tool because I did not want to spend up on it. I chose this because I knew it was not top quality, but it was enough quality to get the job done... thus, the four stars. It fills the "right price, enough quality" niche well. I would recommend this tool to those who want acceptable quality, and don't want to spend too much. And hey, you might even get lucky like I did and catch a price drop and promotion and get it for $20!! But be aware in this price point, there is more of a chance you can get a dud - the QC is not to the same standard as buying a Snap On or Matco here - check it out the best you can before settling on the one you are sent. Thanks for reading!

Its caliberated at in/lb (US style) measurement and not nm. And all measurements on my vehicles are nm, so I am always converting the values which are never perfectly doable like 18nm is 158.31 in/lb. How do you get that? Though it does have the nm measurements also marked on the other side, it really has very odd intervals, so you are just left with coverting and calculating. The product otherwise seems pretty good and is well finished. But a torque wrench's job is to give me correct torque, and it makes it very difficult to get it correct on this one

This is a excellent 1/4 torque wrench at a great price. Used a few times already here in the UK on some Auto and Motorbike related jobs... Spark Plugs and Rocker Covers as well Timing Belt Covers and Idler positioning bolt. No complaints so far as the tool seems very well made and durable along with excellent build quality and outer packaging (solid storage case) for the price, compared to other well known brands. As previous guys here in the UK have mentioned before in some reviews, this torque wrench is specifically designed for the American market and is therefore geared towards the Imperial system as oppose to the Metric one that we use here in Europe and other parts of the world. However, this did not put me off from purchasing the Torque Wrench as I needed a 1/4 size one to compliment my tool set. As a regular user of tools and the measurements required with those, I had no issues myself doing the conversions for the exact settings. I can understand though that some people may actually be put off from purchasing this tool for that reason alone. Other reviewers had also noted that a calibration certificate is not being issued with the device, which I can confirm is true, but luckily I managed to test my device with other similar devices that some of my friends own and it was near enough spot on during these tests. This is possibly the only negative I would of given towards the purchasing of this product, but any recalibration of this device can actually be achieved quite easily via the way the wrench is built and designed, whilst there are loads of YouTube videos out there to show you. If your not competent enough to do this yourself, then please use the services of a professional service to do this for you. The measurement scale settings via the instructions are provided should you experience any issues or difficulties trying to work out the conversions from IN-LB to Nm. As with most if not all torque wrenches unless specified, make sure that when not in use, that they are stored at the lowest settings possible to maintain and keep their accuracy. I done some research about the Tekton company in general for a couple of days reading online forums namely Auto and Tools related ones, before going full tilt and making the purchase. In all fairness I can't be more happier and satisfied with the choice that I made. Tekton the company themselves offer a lifetime guarantee on their products and tools which is an excellent added bonus, and thankfully I will not need to contact them in the foreseeable future!!! Regarding their return procedure its just a case of taking photos and proof of purchase via email and they deal with the rest. I have included some photos of the product along with the inbuilt measurement scale settings on both sides of the wrench as well as the instructions that came with the whole package etc...
