My unit does not turn off the speakers when headphones are plugged in. What about yours? Any solution?

I use my headphone out to transfer audio signal to a self powered unit that has separate speakers and a sub woofer. When I do that the squeezebox speakers work along with the Brookstone tower powered unit to give it a fuller sound. I think that there is a choice for headphones only in settings maybe under line out. I will check it out when I have some time.

will this unit pick up and stream/play music via bluetooth?

It doesn't have Bluetooth built-in, but it does have a standard stereo mini input jack. You can buy a small Bluetooth receiver for about $20 and plug it into the jack to stream audio from your phone, tablet, PC, TV or any other Bluetooth device.

Question 3

I purchased my Boom in 2010 but never seen its firmware updated as seen in these videos. How can I update its firmware?

You can't.  This product was discontinued by Logitech years ago.

Most buyers liked the sound, but foundthe unit next to impossible to program.  It took me months to get proficient with programming using the remote, but still have occasional problems.  Online support is useless or non-existent.

One persistent hardware issue is the AC power connection which is poorly designed.  This product is a great example of terrific audio engineering, and horrible product design.

I consider this product to be totally obsolete.  Get an Amazon Alexa Echo; much more reliable and really easy to program.  Not as good a sound as the Logitech, but then again, I only use it in a room at low volume, not blaring in a ballroom to dance on.

My grandson used it to party at max volume, and broke the DA/AC converter...so now I can tune to my hearts content, read what is supposed to be playing...but not a sound to be heard.  You can find that unit in the local landfill.

If you are frustrated programming this thing, throw it in the trash, buy an Alexa Echo with Dolby sound (I see it on eBay for $65), relax and you'll live longer.

Question 4

can I stream my Itunes library that is on my PC?

I know that I can retrieve songs that were previously loaded on my PC. I do not have experience loading from ITUNES but my guess is that it would be a similar process. I never got operating instructions with my Squeezebox but I believe there is still information online. Good luck.
