Can you keep these in your car during the winter in case of a break-down, or will having them be stored in freezing temperatures damage them?

I loved the idea of these and was so disappointed when it leaked after 2 uses, following all the care instructions and using it normally. The liquid stains and then hardens whatever it touches. In our case, a 2k dollar couch. Would not recommend.

Can it go in the freezer

DO NOT PUT THEM IN THE FREEZER!!! You can however just put them in the refrigerator and you can use them as a cold pack that way. Using cold for 30 minutes then push the button, kneed the crystals as it begins its heating transformation then use it as a hot pack for 30 minutes.. We have found if you have a pretty good dishwasher with a good heat source will work to put them back to being able to be reused again. Put them on the top rack so they dont fall through and down into the heating element, and if you have a baby bottle cycle they will usually reset without having to boil water on the stove.

How long do you boil to “recharge”?

25 minutes, then simmer for 5. place a rag in the bottom of the pot. also always store in liquid state

Well,I never thought of measuring. Definitely hot to the touch, but that probably dosn't help you too much. Hot as a heating pad.
