2005 4 runner champ!
Easy to install and performs well in my 2005 4 runner v-6. Fits very well and sounds good. One installation tip: several internet videos show how to install the subwoofer of a generation four (includes the 2005) 4 runner. The videos instruct the installer to dismantle MUCH of the trim on the floor, interior sidewall, and even the right rear seatbelt. Many screws, panels, yanking and pulling! One video suggests a much easier way to swap out the rear sidewall subwoofer. I tried it, and it works like a CHARM! No screws, panels, carpet, or seatbelt to deal with. You simply cut out the grooved perimeter of the integral sidewall screen that guards the surface of the original subwoofer. Use a sharp, heavy duty utility knife and carefully work your knife around the outer groove of the screen. Take your time and don’t slip with the knife. With a few passes the entire screen will drop out of the rear sidewall. Trim up any ragged edges. The entire subwoofer can then be accessed easily. It will be staring you in the face. Carefully pull apart and unscrew the trim on the original subwoofer. Eventually, you will expose the six or so screws that hold the subwoofer in place. Unscrew the unit from its anchor points , pull it out gently and then disconnect the electrical connections. Note that the connections of the old subwoofer will not fit the unit I bought in this review. Most likely you will snip off the plastic fittings of the vehicle wiring, expose some bare wire and then connect the bare wire from the vehicle to the quick-connect fittings on the new subwoofer. Most likely you will have to drill a few new screw holes in the ring surrounding the new subwoofer to get a secure mount. This is easy to do. Connect all of the color coded wires in the correct terminals (See multiple videos on this; again, easy). Test to know if the subwoofer produces sound from your stereo. Once the unit is wired connected and screwed in place place a bead of clear silicone on the edge of the panel screen that you cut out and replace the screen in the sidewall. I let mine cure for 24 hours. If you’re a neat worker no one will ever notice (except for maybe your dog) that the screen had been cut. A fast worker can replace the subwoofer in probably 45 minutes of easy work. It took me about 1.5 hours, because I’m slow. Don’t be afraid to cut that screen panel. I learned this technique from a guy who posted his how-to video on the internet. His is a great solution to an otherwise significant PIA.

Great for replacement subwoofer 2002 suburban
works great as a replacement sub in 2002 suburban. not very loud, but fills the sound out much better and it's better quality than the original sub. For its price at $65, it give it 5 stars.

MB Quartz Discus 8 inch sub
This is the 4th MB Quartz discus sub I got ( last 3 were 10s), and I'm always happy with the sound. This one was for our Yukon. And fit in the factory sub box and sounds Amazing

Fits 2002 Tahoe perfectly with no modifications.
Replaced blown subwoofer in 15+ year old Tahoe with this unit. Stock speakers are made from paper and foam (or in my case disintegrating goo). For a cost effective solution, this is the way to go. There is no modifying the stock 8” enclosure other than adding 12 new screws for the perimeter mount of the new subwoofer. The factory screws will not work or come close to lining up. There is no dremeling or routing the box to make this fit, it will drop right in. For the stock amp to feed power to this correctly, wire in parallel to get the desired 2 ohm load. I left the jute padding in my box and also packed it with PolyFill. I would also take the time to sort out where the vibrations from this new found sound come from and deaden/isolate vibrations. The issue seems to be the mounting system that it uses and as I press on the box against the vehicle, quite a bit goes away. The subwoofer performs well otherwise, but the factory amp does seem to run out of breath quickly. Perhaps a standalone subwoofer amp or a 5 channel amp is in order sometime. For now, it works just fine. You won’t be setting world records for SPL with this unit, but it definitely adds the low end you might be missing out on right now. And for $55, it’s way more cost effective than a standalone enclosure with a larger sub, a separate amp, or a retrofit enclosure with a larger or better sub option. Even modifying the factory enclosure heavily isn’t what I’d consider cost effective as you have to take some time to make other drivers fit in and risk structural integrity being lost.

Better than factory
Perfect sub for replacing the factory one in my suburban. Sounds so good. Had a problem with the first one and they refunded me and shipped it back for free. Definitely recommend.

Nice replacement sub
Replaced the original sub in a 2003 Toyota 4Runner with the JBL Synthesis system. I was going to use the Pioneer sub that is a common replacement for this application, but it was on backorder. The MB Quart sub was $100 less expensive than the Pioneer, and with the power that the JBL amp runs the sub with, I can't imagine the Pioneer would sound any better. The build quality looks great, it sounds good, and was a great value. $65 well spent! While I had everything apart, I added a bit of Hushmat quiet tape between the tabs of the sub/amp enclosure and the metal body to isolate and eliminate a rattle from the lower plastic tab.

2001 Suburban 2500 - great upgrade
Used this to replace the subwoofer in my 2001 Suburban 2500 which is not Bose but does have the factory subwoofer. This was plug and play and the sound is excellent! Note on the wiring - this has 2 separate input wiring connections. The directions are included, but for anyone who isn't sure how to do it this will require a little bit of extra wire. So just take 2 pieces of wire about 1' long each and connect the positive to positive and negative to negative. Then wire it into the vehicle using the OEM wires.

They look good and strong.
I'm giving 5 stars but honestly I haven't installed them. They look great and they're well built. I've had MB speakers before so I know they're good. I'll give a full review once I install them.

Very slim installation depth. Sounds great considering it's very cheap. The "discus" trim ring is pain to remove and install. Would buy again.

Great sub, running from a small amp at 2 ohm. Puts out a decent amount of bass for only a 8”. Mounting holes did not match, but that was expected.

I installed this with the matching amp into an 8” Tahoe box and installed in my 2004 Escalade worked perfect and sounds fantastic. Fit perfect.
