Is the exterior free of brand markings? if so, where is it?

There are no brand markings to be found on the unit anywhere. It is exactly as pictured. I am quite happy with mine. It is made of a good, heavy gauge metal that looks like should last a long time. Provided I don't do anything stupid to it, that is!

how long keep coffee hot

With Kettle water, I felt that is stayed warm for about 40 min. After that, it starts to cool to the point of needing to be reheated. This is personal preference and may already be too cool for some. Especially if adding a lot of cold creamers. So you could always heat/steam the milk or creamer before adding it. To avoid having to reheat the coffee and keep a better flavour.
