Our family has owned 3 of these mats. I have one cat who is chronically cold and could often be found huddling on a heater vent. Once she discovered that this mat keeps her warm and is more comfortable, she moved from the vent to the mat. My daughter's cats similarly like their mats. Washing them is easy.

Review for the "Sherpa & Terry Expresso" blanket, XL - I bought this for me, to take camping. Due to a past injury, having heat on my back helps me to sleep. However, an electric blanket doesn't work when camping. Based on a recommendation from a relative, I tried this blanket as a non-electric substitute. And did it ever work! I can't remember the last time I slept so well while camping. The only problem was that I verged on being too warm, even with the overnight temps in the 50's. The blanket is sturdy and very soft. I've washed in the washing machine several times (dried it half in the dryer/half line-dried), and it's still very soft. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a sturdy, soft blanket that will keep you very warm. UPDATE: "Velvet Brownstone" style blanket, small - I liked the first blanket so much that I bought a second. I got the "Velvet Brownstone" for use at work while the heat is out. I was very disappointed when the blanket I received did not have a self-warming core! I read the Amazon description carefully before I bought, and even more carefully after I received the blanket (to see if it was my mistake), and there is nothing in the seller's description that says the velvet style blankets are not self-warming. Fortunately, I was able to return the blanket and purchase another of the sherpa-style blankets to replace it. The self-warming issue aside, the velvet-style blanket seems fine as just a pet blanket, though it seemed awfully thin for the price.

Perfect traveling mat to lay on the ground at an outdoor cafe or wherever we're going to spend some time outside the home. The bottom is a vinyl material that would be easy to clean. The top is velvety and comfortable, and the inner layer should reflect body warmth as promised. I got a velco strap at the hardware store so I can roll the mat up and secure it for trips. furnace should consider including a velcro strap for the same purpose.
