HISTORY & HERITAGE In 1884, Master Cutler Karl Elsener opened a cutlery shop in Ibach, Switzerland. There, he and his cutlers’ union produced the finest steel cutlery, finished with the now-famous proprietary edge preferred globally by professionals and home cooks. Karl supplied the Swiss Army with its standard issue Soldier’s Knife and Officer’s Knife. After the death of his mother, and with the advent of stainless steel, Karl changed the name of the company to Victorinox. It is from those humble beginnings that a worldwide icon was born. Today, Victorinox is still owned and operated by the Elsener family, and both the company and family still resides in the small village of Ibach, Switzerland. ## Features - sport type: Camping & Hiking ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B00004YVB4 | | ASIN | B00004YVB4 | | Best Sellers Rank | #159,266 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #348 in Pocketknives | | Brand Name | Victorinox | | Color | Red | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (5,016) | | Customer reviews | 4.8 4.8 out of 5 stars (5,016) | | Date First Available | 3 August 2012 | | Department | unisex-adult | | Drive System | Sliding, Internal Channel | | Folded Size | 3.6 inches | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00021111617031 | | Included Components | Pocket Knife | | Is Discontinued By Manufacturer | No | | Item Dimensions | 9.1 x 2.6 x 139.7 centimeters | | Item Type Name | Swiss Army Knife | | Item Weight | 2.4 Ounces | | Item model number | 1.4603 | | Manufacturer | Victorinox | | Manufacturer | Victorinox | | Manufacturer Part Number | 1.4603 | | Material Type | Stainless Steel | | Model Number | 1.4603 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Pieces | 1 | | Product Dimensions | 9.09 x 2.59 x 139.7 cm; 68.04 g | | UPC | 469285310110 021111617031 046928531011 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Victorinox - **Colour:** Red - **Item dimensions L x W x H:** 9.1 x 2.6 x 139.7 centimeters - **Item weight:** 2.4 Ounces - **Material:** Stainless Steel ## Images ![Tinker - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51ASqInQSGL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Color** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this knife made in China?** A: A genuine Victorinox is made in Switzerland. **Q: I have an old tinker type knife that has somewhat fallen apart.
