What can I do about my Sunbeam Bread Machine? It will not make a decent loaf of bread. They don't rise. Fresh yeast used. Probably can't return it now

We have had ours for several years. We get 25 lb bags of bread flour at Sams Club. Bread turns out wonderful. We use the express loaf setting always. I have used small bags of pilsbury bread flour with poor results. Yes the flour and yeast can make a big difference. Also put in the warm/hot water and the salt, oil,sugar in first then flour and yeast last. In 58 min you have a delicious tall loaf.

You are probably referring to the 12 settings, not cycles. You can look at them and answer most of your questions by looking at the manual here- http://ec1.images-amazon.com/media/i3d/01/A/man-migrate/MANUAL000063299.pdf This is a great machine for the money. I'm on my second one now only because it was about as cheap to buy a new one as to buy a new basket. I had damaged the seals on the bottom by forcing the paddle loose rather than simply letting it soak- my fault. No, I don't work for Sunbeam, I just like my machine.

Can I use this machine to make gluten-free bread?

Yes. I have been making GF bread for several months now, using a recipe from Bette Hagman's "The Gluten Free Gourmet" © 1990. It turns out so well I haven't tried another recipe! In a subsequent book, "More From the Gluten Free Gourmet," Ms. Hagman includes a discussion of useful attributes for a breadmaker, the main requirement being a strong blade, which this Sunbeam has. There are a dozen specially created recipes. Both books were revised in 2000.

Does anyone know where I can buy a pan for the 5891 model?   Mine leaks.  Love the breadmaker.

The pans are the weak link of this machine. Do a google search. Last year I found a nice company in the Midwest that supplies all sorts of appliance parts at reasonable prices, including this pan.
