Does it have a ‘sleeve’ on the back to slide over your rolling luggage handle?

No. It has a detachable shoulder strap and two handle straps. I attach it to the front of my roller bag! I flew with a girl that had this bag and was so impressed with all she had in it. I decided to give it a try. I love it!!! I hope this helps!

When adding ice to cooler is it best to leave ice in bag or empty it in the cooler

I put ice cubes in one or two zip-loc gallon plastig bags. When the day is over I take the bags out wipe the inside of the cooler from any dampness and repeat for each day I am using if I'm traveling for a few days.

Is the 24 can size big enough to hold a wine bottle standing up? Or should I opt for bigger?

This bag is to short to hold wine bottles. This bag also have a tendency to leak form the bottom corner.

How hard is the zipper to open/close? My existing cooler's zipper is almost impossible to open.

The zipper is very easy to open and closed. I love this bag and also bought one for my daughter. It folds which makes it perfect to keep in the car to use for keeping cold produce while shopping. Love the bag
