I bought this belt sander because I needed to strip the paint from my front deck prior to repainting. This is an excellent little unit and served my purposes well. I pressure washed the deck to make sure it was free of any debris. I found that putting on and taking off belts was straightforward and very easy. I did get a jam one time when a belt broke, but that was because I hit the top of a screw and it tore the belt. I used 40 and 80 grit sanding belts depending on what I was stripping. I have enclosed a picture before I started a section of the deck and then a picture after about half an hour. The sander did a very good job. There is only one speed, so no variable speed sanding. For the price this is a fantastic little belt sander. I would highly recommend it for jobs around the house.

Great sander. Sanded a 20x40 deck several times with no problems. Debated about getting a more expensive variable speed unit. Glad I didn’t. I see no need for variable speed. My deck was painted. I tried sanding the paint off but that would have taken forever so I used Behr paint / stain stripper first. I applied a coat of stripper letting it soak for at least an hour misting it with hose water every 15 minutes to keep it damp. Next, I used a pressure washer to take off as much paint as possible then applied another coat and did the same procedure. I let the deck dry completely for a day then sanded with 40 grit to take off 90 % of remaining paint then 80 grit to take off the last of it while giving it a nice smooth ready to stain finish. I went through a 10 pack of each 40 grit and 80 grit. Could have used a few more of each but I was cooked. It was a ton of work that took about 5 days and tough on the back and knees but saved a ton of money. Do’s and dont’s…. Be sure to empty dust bag often. Canned air didn’t do much to clean it out, I used a leaf blower on the sander and on the desk, Don’t bother unzipping the bag just empty it from the other end.i don’t think that zipper will hold up long. The dust bag worked well but I wore a dust mask anyway as there is still some dust floating in the air. Don’t sand over a leaf like I did. It will clog up the sander. Took a little while to clean it out. Also don’t run over the power cord like I told myself not to do but did anyway. It mangled the cord and got seriously stuck in the sander. Now I have to cut off the cord about a foot from the sander and install a new plug so my sander will now have just a foot long power cord. Doh! Oh well it will match my circular saw whose cord is also very short from when I cut it off with the saw lol.

This is not suitable for India . The machine is designed for 120v European standards. We in India use 220v , 50 Hz

The cooling fan got chipped and then disintegrated as soon as I turned it on and adjusted the belt for the first time. I had purchased this same model from another shop and the same thing happened. I initially thought it was my bad luck in the first instance, but it happened a second time. So the problem likely lies in the seller or their stock of the product itself is faulty. I returned the product and received the refund from the seller.

Good value, good quality but a bit heavy when used to shape things like the edge of a countertop. Would be good for horizontal areas. I also discovered that the top is flat so that if you invert it and clamp it to a work bench it works great as a stationary belt sander.
