Works Not sure how long the nylon string will last . My fuel tank will be portable and the bouncing around my destroy the sting.. Not sure if diesel will harm it either.

Easy installation and reasonable quality - albeit all plastic - made in Germany (Surprised by that!)
I like the float mechanism which operates the gauge. I did have to buy a 2" to 1 1/2" adapter which added another $18 to the project, but installation was straight forward. The plastic constructions seems pretty sturdy, but I wonder, over time, how exposure to the elements will impact the plastic. I guess we shall see. But this sure beats using stick to determine how much oil is left in the tank!
