I've had this tea kettle going on two years and have no complaints at all. It still looks great & the shiny finish has held up well. I heat over a gas flame at the max setting. I think black is a good color. It's not going to show any discoloration. I love the handle; it stays cool and it's easy to flip up the spout. One of my criteria was a spout that stays up. The whistle is fine and what you'd expect. The lid snaps down tightly. The round shape is cute! I would absolutely buy another although I think this one will last for years. It's worth the time I spent looking for what I wanted. Farberware for the win.

It's an excellent and attractive kettle. Ridiculously, this is probably the 4th such kettle I've bought over the years because I've forgotten them on the stovetop to boil out completely and burn...

I dropped my old Enamel tea pot and it was badly dented. It took over a month to find this one on Amazon. It is made in Thailand. I hesitated because I wanted one that opened the spout from the handle but all of those were made in China. The whistle is loud and clear. Some reviews state that it is hard to hear but it is important to close the lid tightly in order to get a clear loud whistle. A review mentioned that the spout is hot to touch but there is a small knob on the spout and I just have to press it to open the lid. The knob does not get hot. So a potholder is not necessary. Farberware packaged this item very well in a hard box with protective packing so the item was in excellent condition when it arrived. I like this black teapot and it looks beautiful on my black ceramic stovetop. I gave it an overall rating of 4 only because you cannot open the spout from the handle.

I have had this for over a year and it is perfect. It works well on induction -- heating very fast. Ours is at a family cabin so it isn't well cared for yet there is no rust. The spout is easy to flip open and the handle is comfortable for grabbing and pouring. Overall it seems well made.

I ordered this July 23, 2025 and product worked just fine until the week of 19Jan26. The whistle piece fell out of its place twice on two separate times and while my husband was able to get it back in place both times, it's no longer a whistling tea kettle, sadly. Otherwise, a nice kettle anyway.

This teapot is both functional and attractive. We are happy with its design and color, and it appears to be very durable on both the inside and the outside. The whistle is not super loud, which is OK with us as we have a small house. It is lightweight, easy to clean, and because of the way it’s designed, I don’t think it will have any problems with rust. We don’t have hard water, but there are instructions to tell you what to do in case you did get any rust spots.

The kettle is so lovely and works really well. Would recommend.
