Great product! It is crazy how well it cuts without being sharp! Gives me the shivers when my 3 and a half year old licks the blade! Definitely prefer this to them plastic knifes you can get. This cuts more precisely and the design of the handle being above the blade, makes it easier for small and weak wrists to cut hard things like carrots, by using the weight and force of the whole upper body. An overall great product of high quality! Definitely great value for money.

I bought this a couple of years ago when my son was 4. He was very keen to help in the kitchen but was a bit too eager to be handed a proper knife, so I did some research and the Kuhn Rikon children selection got my interest. My son found it intuitive to use since he can hold it with both hands, it looks attractive to children as the utensils have different animals on them. They are still going strong now and are as sharp/non-sharp as they were before. To be fair, I sometimes use it myself. We have a set of two knives too and it is amazing how bland they are but still will chop through a carrot no issue. We struggled a tiny bit on tomatoes but I think it was because of the pressure applied instead of the cutting motion. In comparison to other brands, this it cheaper and seems like it would be a great for a gift. It's also dishwasher safe which is always a bonus!

Ideal for people who don't have great grip. Designed for young children but works for all ages. Great for anyone with motor skill issues

Unser Sohn (16 Monate) steht häufig im Lernturm und hilft mir beim Kochen oder Backen. Das klappt in der Regel ganz gut, wenn er allerdings sieht, dass ich etwas schneide, dann will er auch und bisher endete es eigentlich fast immer in Gebrüll, weil er eben an unsere Messer nicht ran darf. Ja klar, ich kann ihn dann ablenken und ihm erklären, dass nicht geht, aber warum keine kindertaugliche Alternative nutzen. Das Wiegemesser hier ist sogar für ihn gut zu handhaben, er kann damit Schnittlauch klein schneiden oder auch mal sein Äpfelchen in kleine Teile hacken. Das klappt super und ohne Risiko. Die Schneide ist natürlich stumpf und sorgt, selbst wenn man sie sich richtig fest ins Fleisch drückt, höchstens für einen blauen Fleck. Wenn man ganz übervorsichtig sein will, läßt man einfach die Schutzkappe dran. Das Messer kann in der Spülmaschine gut gereinigt werden und unser Sohn liebt es sehr. Seit er verstanden hat, wie es funktioniert, habe ich hier kein Gezeter mehr, weil er an unsere Messer will. Die Verarbeitung ist sehr hochwertig und gut, die kleine Katze sieht niedlich aus.
