YES, YES, YES. I use acrylic colours for all my paintings on board or canvas. I always use charcoal for drawing, shading and even mixed with medium or water thrown on to the painting for effects. Wait until your work is dry, and then, before you fix it permanently, wave a very, very, very light mist of fixative so that the charcoal doesn't move when you next apply the final generous spray. If you spray boldly the first time the force of the compressed gas in the can will blow a lot of your charcoal marks where you don't want them to go.
