The nutrition panel claims that sodium content for a 10-gram serving is 1050 mg. Is that accurate?

That seems reasonable. 1050 mg. is just over one gram of sodium. I believe it’s from an Algae that is grown in salt water. Seems reasonable to me.

Will this thicken plain water?

It pretty much thickens everything it comes in contact with , I use it alongside potassium bicarbonate and calcium carbonate mixed in water and it turns into a thicker milky white solution
