Review: This book is a treasure! - This book is a treasure for children and adults alike. It tells the story of Linnea, a young girl who loves art and flowers, and her visit to Monet's garden in Giverny, France. The book is full of beautiful illustrations and photographs that capture the magic and beauty of Monet's paintings and his home. The book also teaches about Monet's life and his passion for nature and art. It is a wonderful introduction to impressionism and one of its greatest masters. I read this book to my children when they were little and they loved it. They learned so much about art and history, and they were inspired by Linnea's curiosity and enthusiasm. Now I bought this book for my grandson, who is also an art lover. I hope he will enjoy it as much as I did. I also hope to take him to Paris someday and see the Waterlilies exhibit in person. This book is a must-have for anyone who loves art and flowers.

For adults and children alike.
I am 66 and I bought another copy of this book to replace the one that I gave away. It is still one of my favorite books ever, and one of my favorite children's books. And if you are a gardener or a lover of Monet, it's for you.

See above.
Excellent book for any youngster and accompanying adult going to Giverney. It provided a jumping off point for further discussions and study of Monet. Make sure the child has a camera so she or he can record what they see and perhaps make a scrapbook. My granddaughter loved the gardens and the book.

What a lovely name.
Primarily wanted it for the name of the character, but found it a charming story.

I’m giving this as gifts
A friend lent me this. I was so surprised how comprehensive it was with photos, history, museum mentions and Monet details and history. I’m giving them out as birthday gifts. Very classy.

Beautiful children's book
This is a beautifully illustrated book. I used it with year 3's to tie in with their overriding French theme, the book then linked in to MFL (French), Literacy (reading & adventure stories), Art (Impressionism) etc. The book is a fiction story but also has non-fiction within it (about Monet's life) and mentions various French places and sites of interest. The children really enjoyed this book, although admittedly the girls were more enthusiastic about it than the boys (there is lots about flowers and the main character is a little girl).
